Aleksa Stupar Commits to Brescia University

Aleksa Stupar is taking his game to Owensboro, Kentucky. The 6'7" outside hitter from Serbia has committed to Brescia University and will join the Bearcats for the upcoming season.

Who he is

Aleksa comes from OK Novi Sad, one of Serbia's top volleyball programs. He has represented Serbia at the U19 level and spent years developing against strong domestic competition.

At OK Novi Sad, he built his game by training and competing against some of the best youth and senior players in the country. That experience shows in his attacking and his physical play at the net.

What he brings

Size, athleticism, and a competitive edge. Aleksa can terminate from both pins and uses his 6'7" frame to control the net. His U19 national team background means he's used to playing under pressure and competing at a high standard.

Off the court, he's a disciplined student who takes his academics seriously. That balance made him a strong fit for Brescia.

The Brescia fit

Brescia University competes in the NAIA as a member of the River States Conference. The program has a growing international presence and a coaching staff that knows how to develop players who come from overseas.

For Aleksa, it's a chance to keep competing at a high level while earning a degree from a respected liberal arts school.

The bigger picture

Aleksa is the latest in a growing line of Serbian volleyball players finding opportunities in American college athletics. The NAIA continues to prove itself as a strong pathway for international talent, and Brescia got a player with the tools to contribute right away.
